Hey There! I tried a new newsletter format last week and totally messed up the subject line. It defaulted to "brandon@brandsonbrands.com" instead of the catchy headline I had planned. So not the best start to trying something new. Oh well! But, I'm still experimenting. So this week, I'm trying this "3 Things" format. Reply to this email and let me know what you think. Three Things This WeekOne Idea. One Inspiration. One Inquiry. ONE IDEADon’t wait until you have something to launch before you start building an audience… I’ve been listening to James Clear’s interviews on the Creator Science and Nathan Barry podcasts. Before Atomic Habits launched, James had already built an email list of approximately 50,000 people by consistently publishing useful articles. The book helped grow his audience—but the audience he had already earned also helped make the book successful. Hey there! Have you ever noticed how hard it is to answer one of the easiest questions anyone can ask you? “So, what do you do?” We know too much about ourselves. So we start explaining. Our job. Our background. The company. The side project. The thing we used to do. The thing we’re trying to do next. Before long, we’ve given someone the highlight reel. But I’ve been thinking lately that maybe a better introduction isn’t a highlight reel. It’s a movie trailer. Three Things This Week One Idea....
Hey there! Before our family vacation two weeks ago, my kids asked an important question: “Can you wear Crocs while whitewater rafting?” We rented a cabin in the mountains, hiked, and took the whole family rafting. The trip was a 10 out of 10. And yes, Crocs in sport mode passed the test... although they weren’t as comfortable as Tevas (the official rafting shoe of dads everywhere). Here are some ideas to ponder this week...One Idea: Pick a project to challenge yourself with for the next 3 months. I'm refreshing my newsletter format and I hope you like it. I was looking for something that would be enjoyable to create and fun for you to read. I was inspired by the simplicity of James Clear's Newsletter which has 3 million subscribers, so he must be doing something right! *Respond to the email if you like this format. Two Opinions: 1) It's hard to see the forest through...
